Ex Lege Libertas
Mixed Media on Polystyrene (2025) 125 x 60cm
Sculpted painting with 3D figurines and different papers as a backdrop. An atmosphere of playfulness and color which clashes with the two niches and which is conducive to toggle the attention between lines and sections. The message is true liberty is only generated by law and compromising with your community. It is a process which seems to crumble and needs to be constantly defended. You need a moral compass to orientate yourself and you need to accept. Check the stylized captions for a clue: there can be bans which are wrong, such as fear of the immigrants and prohibitionist era. When you demand to get too playful you are going to clash with others since everybody want to be as free as a bird, such as the yellow elephant or the monkey on an open railway.
